Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 1, 2026
Breather ("the app") is a breathing guide that displays a floating bubble over other apps on your device. This policy explains what information the app does and does not handle. In short: Breather does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.
Information We Collect
None. Breather has no account system, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking. The app does not send any information off your device.
Information Stored on Your Device
Breather saves your breathing preferences (inhale, hold, and exhale durations, your selected breathing pattern, and theme choice) locally on your device so they persist between sessions. This data never leaves your device and is removed when you uninstall the app.
Permissions the App Requests
Breather requests a small number of Android permissions, used only to provide the app's core functionality:
- Display over other apps (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): required to show the breathing bubble on top of your other apps. The overlay only renders the breathing guide and does not read, capture, or interact with the content of any other app.
- Foreground service / notifications (FOREGROUND_SERVICE, FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE, POST_NOTIFICATIONS): required to keep the breathing overlay running reliably while you use other apps, and to show a notification (with a "Stop" action) while a session is active, as required by Android.
- Vibrate (VIBRATE): used for the optional gentle haptic tap on each breathing phase change.
Children's Privacy
Breather does not collect data from anyone, including children. The app is suitable for all ages and contains no ads or external links to user-generated content.
